The 18th of September is Independence Day here in Chile. There were lots of celebrations throughout the week! A main event is what's called a Fonda. It's like a fair where there is a rodeo, typical chilean arts & crafts, and, of course, lots of food! September 18th was on a Sunday this year, so there was celebrating both the week before AND the week after! Our church even got in on the celebration and help a day of olympics at a local sports club. We played games, ate empanadas, and celebrated Independence day as a church family! It was great!
